We are fully committed to ensuring a pipeline of exceptional talent for decades to come. So, in addition to The Marketing Academy Scholarships which are targeted at individuals already on a marketing career path, the Marketing Hall of Legends (UK) in partnership with The Prince's Trust has launched Merlin’s Apprentice – a 12 month fully paid Marketing Apprenticeship for 18 - 24 year olds who are not currently in employment, education or training.
Awarded to young adults who, because of lack of qualification, challenging backgrounds or poor life choices, would normally be overlooked for this kind of work experience, the Apprenticeship will provide not only on-the-job learning, training and qualifications but more importantly the first step to a career within marketing, advertising or communications.
The programme has been developed and will be delivered in partnership with The Princes Trust, the Chartered Institute of Marketing and The Marketing Academy

The 12 month Apprenticeship programme has been designed to include 3 learning streams:
1. Practical Experience - Apprentices will complete a 12 month paid work placement within a ‘Host’ company. Although employed by Marketing Hall of Legends (UK) they will be treated as an employee and work alongside experienced staff to complete their role, which will be designed by the ‘Host’ and aimed at entry level.
2. Professional Qualifications - The Apprenticeship will include full funded entry level membership of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) and access to their resources. The CIM will also fund study for the ‘Introductory Certificate in Marketing’.
3. Learning & Development – Merlin's Apprentices will have full access to the training & resources of The Marketing Academy and will recieve;
• 3 ‘Mentors’ each giving 4 ‘one to one’ 90 minute mentoring sessions throughout the year
• 2 day leadership development programme
• 3 Merlin Lectures (learning events provided by key industry figures)
• 2 Lunch & Learn events (lunch with key figures at the top of the UK’s most successful businesses)
• 2 Academy Faculty Learning days (provided by marketing industry specialists)
Merlin’s Apprentice pilot programme begins with the selection and appointment of 2 Apprentices who will begin their work placements in January 2012 in the London area.
