Claire started her career as a graduate trainee with Unilever, spent 15 years in a variety of senior marketing roles followed by 5 years on the board of KFC UK as Marketing Director - where a combination of brave advertising, radical store redesign and a host of NPD drove double digit sales growth.  From there she joined Boots where as Brand Communications Director she was responsible for award winning TV advertising ‘Here come the Girls’ and managing all aspects of their customer activity plan. She then made the move to Sainsbury’s and oversaw launch of new brand strategy Live Well for Less that continues today. Prior to ASDA Claire spent 2 years as Category Business Director at Premier Foods figuring out how to turnaround their Cake business including a £25M capital investment.

Claire’s achievements include award winning advertising at KFC, Boots and Sainsbury’s, repositioning of Sainsbury’s to more ably compete in the ‘post- Aldi/Lidl’ market, saving Mr Kipling cakes from a slow painful decline, and hopefully helping ASDA start to regain momentum with a 3 year turnaround customer strategy.

Mark Newton, CMO of Able & Cole

    Mark Newton

With an insatiable curiosity about what makes consumers tick, Mark Newton's career has taken him from American Express to Microsoft, and while the world of marketing has evolved and changed over that time it's also stayed remarkably the same. Consumers still like a great idea they haven't seen before and they will still pay for quality at the right price.

With over two decades of marketing across all disciplines, people coaching, speaking, and most importantly, hands dirty, business experience, Mark's learned that leadership in marketing isn't built by title or position. Good leaders are created every day at every level - inspiring people doing great things.

Mark started his career in the city of London, coding html on notepad. He had no idea what he'd do, but thanks to support of great people like you along the way, he learned, led people and created change. He truly believes anything is possible.
